Background
I am a classical and acoustic guitarist teaching regularly at Bedwas, near Caerphilly in South Wales.
I am fully CRB/DBS checked and insured, and I welcome pupils of all ages and abilities, from the youngest primary school pupils to retired adults.
A performer in my own right, I have also appeared as part of the five-piece acoustic band East of Tangier, the acoustic duo i've got this friend, the alternative folk band Roholio, and other bands. As a classical guitarist, I've played in the UK and abroad with the North Devon Guitar Ensemble and Exeter Guitar Ensemble, and as a member of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Guitar Ensemble.
Classical guitar
I hold Grade 8 (ABRSM) in Classical Guitar, and was a Young Musicans' Support Fund awardee for classical guitar in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. I studied for a BMus(Hons) at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
For classical guitar enthusiasts
I play an Aram guitar made for me by Kevin Aram in early 2013. Kevin makes every part of the guitar himself by hand except the tuners (Rodgers) and strings (D'Addario J45s), and names every guitar he makes - mine is called 'Keala'.
Acoustic guitar
I studied acoustic guitar with Nick Wyke, and have performed as part of the acoustic five-piece band East of Tangier, in the duo i've Got This Friend, with the alternative folk band Roholio and other bands, as well as performing as a solo artist.
Electric guitar
I studied electric guitar with Alex Duncan, of the band Assassins of Sound and North Devon recording studio Candyland.
